our aVENUEs of service

Rotary clubs worldwide are organised into five Avenues of Service which form the foundation of Rotary's work, ensuring focus on Service Above Self and that service efforts are balanced and advance all aspects of the Object of Rotary to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise.

The Rotary Club of Mindarie follows this structure as regards its structure and operation.

Club Service focuses on strengthening fellowship and ensuring the effective functioning of the club. This “Avenue” promotes the development of fellowship and team spirit as an opportunity for service. It involves the activities necessary to make the Club function successfully and achieve its goals.

Community Service covers the projects and activities the club undertakes to improve life in its community. This “Avenue” relates to the activities that Rotarians undertake to improve the quality of life in their community. Particular emphasis is given to helping children, needy families, the aged, the handicapped, and those most in need of assistance. Rotarians strive to promote the ideal of service in their personal, business, and community lives.

Youth Service recognises the positive change implemented by youth and young adults through leadership development activities as RYPEN, RYLA , Rotaract and Interact , service projects, and creating international understanding with Rotary Youth Exchange.

Vocational Service encourages Rotarians to serve others through their vocations and to practice high ethical standards. This area represents the opportunity that each Rotarian has to represent their occupation as an opportunity to serve society. Rotarians promote and foster high ethical standards in business and professions and promote the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations.

International Service encompasses actions taken to expand Rotary’s humanitarian reach around the globe and to promote world understanding and peace. These actions are achieved by sponsoring a project in another country, seeking international project partners to support projects in their own communities or by personally volunteering at an international project site.
